UNSUSTAINABLE

The Virginia Lottery was sold to voters in 1987 as a way to fund school capital construction costs.

In 1990 the York County Board of Supervisors told citizens that a Meals Tax was needed for the same.

And here we are again, being told we must bear the burden of yet another tax to fund school construction projects.

Where does it end?

UNAFFORDABLE

The Brookings Institution reports that nearly half of U.S. households could not make ends meet in 2024.

The same report concluded that even a small hike in annual expenses would leave another 3 million households unable to meet their basic financial obligations.

UNFAIR

Sales taxes disproportionately impact poor, low-income and working-class households.

The Institution on Taxation and Economic Policy finds that low income groups pay a much higher effective share of their earnings in sales taxes.

VOTE "NO" NOVEMBER 3rd
